I am so excited to reveal the beautiful cover created for THE WATCHERS by Kris Norris! I am not the most visual person (my 17-year-old artist child will call that the understatement of the year), so having a professional who can take my disjointed ramblings about theme and character and my favorite book covers (all of which are wildly different from one another) and turn those into a gorgeous cover perfect for my book feels like a small miracle!
Most surprising to me is that we ended up choosing to have Alesea on the cover. I initially didn’t want people on it at all—as a reader, I don’t like being shown what a character looks like before I form my own mental picture (unless it’s a picture book or graphic novel, of course). At least, that’s what I told Kris… then I discovered that just boats and ocean looked like a pirate story, and just a pretty island and trees looked like… well, not my book. Wow, I’m annoying! When Kris showed me an option with Alesea in profile, I realized I could have the best of both worlds. Without further ado, here it is!

Great article!
